Sept. 8, 1963 – Ned Jarrett won the Capital City 300 at the Atlantic Rural Fairgrounds in Richmond, Va. by more than two laps. Despite falling two laps down early in the race because of a flat tire, Jarrett passed Rex White for the lead on a late restart and led the final 37 laps. Complete results can be found here.
